Details: Let's talk about folding screens!

After we received some new fancy folding screens for our shop i started thinking about how they are used in usual interior design practice.
Screens are not a very popular trend though they work great in space separation. It seems not fair screens are being ignored so often“Screens are terrific for creating architecture where there isn’t any,” said Los Angeles-based interior designer Michael S. Smith. So let's have a look.

Invented in 8th-century Japan to block drafts and carve out spaces in open-plan houses now they can be used for the same purpose but more often and more obvious is using folding screens for beautification of ugly room corners.

At the same time, folding screens offer a possibility to add architecture, history, color and pattern. They can become even a focus point as in that beautiful artsy flat of collector in Paris (above)!

Next screen i personally like a lot because it gives an extra charm and very nice delicate versatile background for the pieces in front. Frankly speaking, i love that room for all its bright and chic atmosphere.

And the option for color lovers from Redo design that can add up some fun in your interior :

1. Stunning folding screen from Capellini
3. Bright room from Heidy Pribell

Color trends 2015: Pantone and Marsala

Pantone gave us a very deep and rich color for the year 2015 named Marsala (PANTONE 18-1438). As Pantone itself describes it, "Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth". The hue of this strong color walks on a line between deep burgundy and soft terracota.

Though Marsala is a very strong color itself it might be difficult to catch the right shade to pair with. The perfect examples are in an eastern style interiors of course. East was always a big fan of this kind of moody rich colors so researching through the history of Moroccan and Indian interiors shows a nice use of Marsala.
Another nice pairings can be chosen from light patel pallette like soft blue or green, honey beige or light gold. For creating a an intriquing dramatic interior some dark and moody colors can be used.

Marsala will give a unique characteristics to fabrics or textured surfaces so this is an ideal choice for rugs, bedding and upholstered living room furniture.

Color trends 2015: DULUX and Copper Blush

New 2015 is coming, and its a time for trendsetters to give to the world some options for future. In interior design important one is a color of the year of course.

Last year choices were a bit unexpected. All that Radiant Orchid from Pantone thing caused some resonance in designer sphere, personally i didn't really mind that color though. This time very nice and calm color were chosen by most companies. So lets start from DULUX color of the year: Copper Blush.

Lately i became a big fan of warm pastel colors so this choice was a good surprise for me. Copper Blush is a versatile warm color with pink and orange undertones that create so cocooning delicate feeling.

One of the best and obvious ways to use Copper Blush is to match it with copper. Copper is my big love for a longlong time by the way.

Matched with another bright colors, Copper Blush looks fresh and shiny without loosing it's cocooning feature though.

Copper Blush also perfectly works with graphical minimalistic designs. Just match it with black or white, and you will have a trendy clear stylish pic. Cold tones such as ligh bluish or grey will also give a interesting company.
Next year tends to be warm and charming, i hope. So what do you think about Dulux choice?
